Joplin EFT Training Center

Joplin EFT Program

Joplin EFT Training Center (JEFT) provides quality supervision to prepare aspiring systemic therapists for a successful career in mental health.

We close a large gap in the process of becoming a mental health counselor: good supervision from the start.

Our supervision is based on the mentorship model with an attachment framework.

Through JEFT's internship program, supervisees not only learn the skills they need to practice good therapy but also partner with JEFT in providing affordable counseling services to the Joplin, Missouri metro.

JEFT partners with RAISE, Watered Gardens, the Forge, Washington Family Hope Center, Life House and Mt. Hope Christian Counseling Center to provide supervisees with diverse mental health experience.

"Most supervisors wait for their students to ask questions. The problem is students don't know the right questions to ask."

Attachment-Based Mentorship

Supervisors at JEFT are deeply invested in your progress professionally and personally. The supervisor-supervisee relationship is exactly that: a relationship that is close, warm, and full of care. You're not just fulfilling a requirement; you are gaining an attachment figure.

Superior Training

JEFT's program includes much more oversight than traditional supervision. This level of guidance means not feeling lost in the therapy room, but it also means more structure and corrective feedback.

Higher Standards

JEFT believes student interns have more to offer in their internships than simply "becoming comfortable in the therapy room." However, this requires students to be more intentional with self-reflection and video review.

Guaranteed Hours

JEFT's community partnerships provides interns with diverse clinical experience from diagnosing severe mental health disorders to treating families. To give this comprehensive experience, interns are not paid due to the many free services JEFT provides to the Joplin community.

"This supervision was not easy. I gave up much more time, money, and energy than my peers, but it showed in my outcomes."
